Owen Sound Police have arrested and charged two people from outside the area with drug trafficking related offences.
City Police say a drug trafficking investigation concluded on Tuesday with the arrest of a male and a female in the parking lot of a downtown business.
Police say they seized more than 1,000 methamphetamine pills stamped with the word “ICE”.
Owen Sound Police say they also confiscated a rental vehicle associated to the arrested parties and sought a search warrant. After it was granted by a judge, police searched the vehicle and seized cocaine and nearly $5,400 in cash.
“The total value of cash and drugs seized in the investigation is in excess of $20,000,” Owen Sound Police say in a release.
A 23-year-old male from the Ottawa area and a 19-year-old female from Collingwood have been jointly charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine/methamphetamine) and possession of proceeds of crime.
The accused have not been further identified by police.
