Huronia West OPP has identified a woman in connection with a sudden death investigation in Wasaga Beach.
Police say on the morning of Tuesday, December 8, they received a 911 call reporting a woman without vital signs laying in a ditch full of water in the area of River Rd West and Beck Street.
Despite the efforts of emergency services personnel at the scene, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Huronia West Crime Unit, Central Region Forensic Identification Unit (FIS), in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario, are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this death.
Through investigation, police say the victim has been identified as a 63 year old resident of Wasaga Beach and the incident is not deemed to be suspicious in nature, however the Huronia West Detachment is continuing this investigation.
