Some items are needed to help the Huron “Out of the Cold” winter homeless shelter continue operation.
In a news release from the County of Huron, officials say items most in need include hygiene products like soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, socks, and underwear.
New or gently used clothing, outerwear (including hats and mitts), and towels are also being requested.
This season’s emergency winter shelter will return to Goderich’s Lakeshore United Church, where the program initially launched in 2016.
The emergency shelter will be able to accommodate up to 15 individuals per evening, with meals provided, for the cold weather season.
