Georgian Bluffs has hired a new Chief Administrative Officer.
The Township issued a news release on Tuesday to announce Al Meneses, who’s most recent public sector role was as Commissioner of Community Services for the City of Brampton, has been appointed as Georgian Bluffs’ CAO.
According to the Township, Meneses has over 30 years of experience, split roughly equally between the private and public sectors.
Meneses starts as Georgian Bluffs’ CAO effective Dec. 14.
“I am excited to be joining Georgian Bluffs and helping council achieve the community’s goals and priorities,” says Meneses in a prepared statement. “My interaction with council and staff has been very positive and my family and I are excited to start this new chapter in our lives.”
Georgian Bluffs Mayor Dwight Burley: “I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Mr. Al Meneses as our new CAO. On behalf of council and staff, welcome to the Township of Georgian Bluffs.”
Georgian Bluffs’ Director of Finance and Treasurer Kassandra Rocca had been serving as interim CAO, after John Norton departed less than a month after starting the job.
Prior to Norton’s brief tenure, Grey County’s Director of Housing Anne Marie Shaw served as Georgian Bluffs’ interim CAO.
The Township’s effort to fill its top civil service position dates back to February 2020. Georgian Bluffs disclosed then former CAO Rick Winters was no longer employed, but did not provide further details.
