Owen Sound firefighters responded to a fire above Norma Jean’s on 8th Street East in the City’s Downtown Monday.
Just before noon, crews arrived on scene and evacuated the building in the 200 block of 8th Street East.
Owen Sound police say the fire, which was contained to a single unit, was quickly extinguished and there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
The building did sustain some damage with the involved unit remaining uninhabitable for the tenants. The cause of the fire is still under investigation however it is believed to have started from a small space heater.
City police are reminding you not to leave any electric device or appliance plugged in when you leave your home for any extended period.
