You may notice some military helicopters around the Meaford area Wednesday night.
A media release from the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre in Meaford says Members of the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command and the Royal Canadian Air Force will be conducting routine training on Wednesday night (Oct 14-15) between 9:30 p.m. and 3 a.m.
They say this training will involve CH-146 Griffon helicopters and residents can expect to see and hear helicopters performing multiple flights.
They note, there may be periods of increased noise and add that military weapons will be present.
They are assuring the public, “Any use of simulated ammunition during training will be done in accordance with required safety measures.”
Meanwhile, The Canadian Special Operations Forces Command says it is, “Extremely thankful for the support and understanding of the communities within which it conducts its valuable training.”
