Starting this weekend, Blue Mountain Resort is requiring trail users to have a pass or ticket in order to use the resort’s trail system.
The decision has received plenty of backlash from local hikers.
Anyone wanting to use Blue’s hiking trails will now have to buy an “Explore Pass” at $59, which must be displayed while on the trails.
Blue Mountain says the move was necessary to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 and will help cover the cost of trail maintenance.
