All-terrain vehicles can now travel on the shoulders of municipal roads in Wasaga Beach.
Council approved a new by-law at its Tuesday night meeting.
The four wheel vehicles are allowed on the roads from 7 AM to 11 PM only from April 1st to November 30th.
But ATVs can not go on highways including Beachwood Road which is still under Ministry of Transportation jurisdiction.
And ATVs can not go on the beach.
Riders still have to have a driver’s license and insurance, be at least 16 years old and wear a helmet.
A director with the Central Ontario ATV Club, Soren Klemmensen says this new by-law means ATV riders have access to businesses and services in town while on their travels.
Klemmensen says he was thrilled to be able to legally drive his four-wheeler home from the council meeting on Tuesday night.
