The Head Shave & Pony Tail clip for the Cubs for Cancer is Monday at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre from 4-5:30 pm.

The Celebrity Serve for the campaign will follow at Boston Pizza in Owen Sound from 6-8 pm

The Owen Sound Launch of " The Toronto Maple Leafs: The Complete Oral History, celebrating 100 years of NHL hockey in Toronto is set for Wednesday November 22nd, from 7 to 9 pm. at the Ginger press Book Store.

Author Eric Zweig will be on hand to talk about the book and swap hockey stories.

There are 4 Novice C division teams plus 5 teams in the Atom House League participating.

All of the Owen Sound Ice Hawk teams will be playing on Saturday the 25th as part of the annual Showcase Day.

Proceeds from the night are directed to the Bluewater Community Office of the Canadian Cancer Society for childhood cancer research.

The Big Bruce Volleyball Club is inviting boys in the Grey - Bruce area, born in 1998 or later to two open try out practices on Tuesday, December 5th and Tuesday, December 12th at Chesley District Community School

The BBVC runs from December to late April and consists of weekly practices on Tuesday evenings

The club also participates in tournaments as part of the Southwestern Ontario 18U volleyball league.

The Owen Sound Girls Field Lacrosse Program is staging a fundraiser connected to the home opener of the Toronto Rock of the NLL.

On Saturday December 16th when the Rock host the Saskatchewan Rush, 500 tickets are available with the proceeds from the ticket sales going to support the Owen Sound Girls Field Lacrosse Program.

The Nomination Deadline for the Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame  is December 31st.

Nominations for Athletes, Builders, Special Merit and Teams are open until then with the Induction Ceremony set for Friday May 4th.

Complete nomination forms, with instructions included, can be picked up from Staci Ollerton at City Hall (temporarily located in the Professional Centre, Suite 230) and returned to Staci when completed.

The Kilsyth Young Guns and Kilsyth Flyers are proud to be the host teams for the 2018 Canadian Juvenile Broomball Championship Tournament in Owen Sound.

The Young Guns will host the Girls tournament while the Boys Championship will be hosted by the Flyers April 4th-7th at both the Bayshore & Regional Rec Centre.

More than a dozen teams from across the country will compete for the National titles.
