The inaugural Georgian Shores Marina-Ride Your PWC For Hospice is tomorrow at Georgian Shores Marina, Owen Sound.

Enjoy a day on the water, with proceeds going to Chapman House.
There will be lunch en route, live entertainment, and dinner at back at the boater’s lounge.

The Sauble Beach Chamber of Commerce presents the annual 8K Run-Walk on Sunday.

Registration at the beach is at 8 am with the start of the event set for 9am.

The cost to participate is at least $ 20 in pledges.

Proceeds from the event will be directed to Bleeding Disorders at Sick Kids Hospital


The Owen Sound Senior NorthStars annual Golf Tournament is Saturday August 19th.

The cost is $ 100 per golfer which includes dinner & cart

The Owen Sound Attack, in partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society's Bluewater Office, is pleased to announce the inaugural Cubs For Cancer event in support of childhood cancer research and support services.

Centered around the Attack game against the Guelph Storm on November 25th, Cubs For Cancer will see the Attack don special jerseys that will be auctioned following the game.

The Attack and Canadian Cancer Society are giving fans two opportunities to be involved in the fundraising efforts.

First,  fans will have a chance to design the jersey that the Attack players will wear on Nov. 25 against the Storm. The design contest runs until Sept. 8th

Open to children aged 17 and under, the contest winner will receive a pair of tickets to the game as well as an authentic Cubs For Cancer jersey personalized with their last name and choice of a number.

Supporters will also have the opportunity to participate in a haircut alongside the Attack at the Celebrity Serve the week prior to the game against Guelph.

Participants will be asked to raise at least $200 in pledges towards the event to be able to participate. Hair that is donated will go toward making wigs for local cancer patients as part of a program that sees the Canadian Cancer Society offer free wigs to cancer patients in need.

The annual Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festival at Meaford is set for September and October highlighted by the annual Family Festival on September 29th.

The committee is conducting Scarecrow Building Workshops at the Meaford Harbour Pavilion from 9-noon on the following dates;

The Owen Sound Minor Lacrosse Representative Awards and Recognition Celebration will be staged on Thursday from 7-9 pm at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.


There will be a Benefit Night for Owen Sound Attack Pak President Helen Lewis.

The Benefit Night will be staged Saturday August 19th at 8 pm at the Tara Community Centre.

Due to recent illness Helen needs assistance equipment.


The 8th Annual Bayshore Race is Sunday, August 27th.  

Organizers hope to attract more than 600 runners and walkers

Runners and walkers can select to participate in the ½ Marathon, 10k and 5k road races, a 5k Fun Walk or the 1k Kids’ Run

Funds raised at the 2017 Bayshore Race will support improvements to diagnostic testing at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital.

The 4th annual Communiski Dinner for Julian Smith is Sunday August 27th.

The event which features Dinner, Door Prizes and Discounts on Pottery will be held at 5 pm at Gleason Brook Pottery which is at 070527 Zion Church Road in Georgian Bluffs.

Tickets for the evening are $ 35 for adults, $ 5 for children 12 & under and proceeds will assist Julian Smith who is coming off a very successful Nordic ski season where he represented Canada at the World Junior Championships in Utah.

The annual Owen Sound Fall Fair is set for September 7th to 9th at Victoria Park.

The Celebrity Serve for the Cubs for Cancer campaign will be Monday November 20th at Boston Pizza in Owen Sound


The Cubs for Cancer Game will be Saturday November 25th when the Owen Sound Attack host the Guelph Storm.

Proceeds from the night are directed to the Bluewater Community Office of the Canadian Cancer Society for childhood cancer research.


The 2018 Canadian Juvenile Broomball Championship Tournament will be hosted in Owen Sound in April.
