Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".
It's been an active few days to start the week and it shows no signs of easing up today.
Most significantly, the OFSAA " A " Girls Volleyball Championship climaxes today in Walkerton.
After 2 days of play at 4 venues in both Walkerton and at Kincardine, the games today will be played in Walkerton at Sacred Heart High School and at Walkerton District Community School where the Championship Final should be contested late this afternoon.
( The Walkerton Lady Riverhawks were eliminate last night )
It's also been an active week for hockey players from Bluewater schools as the CWOSSA Championships for both Boys & Girls conducted 6 different events with more than a half dozen Bluewater schools competing.
While we're talking about hockey, the first ( and only ) season for the Collingwood Colts came to a dramatic end on Monday night when they lost Game 7 of their playoff series to Stouffville at a jam packed Eddie Bush Memorial Arena.
Junior Hockey's return to Collingwood was a success on almost every level and going forward the team will be known as the Blues, dropping the Colts moniker.
Finally, in the Ontario Hockey League tonight, the Owen Sound Attack host the Barrie Colts, and elsewhere the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds entertain the Flint Firebirds.
If, IF, the Attack beat Barrie and Sault Ste Marie loses in any manner, the Attack will clinch a Western Conference playoff spot for the 10th consecutive year.
Game time tonight for the Attack & Colts is 7 pm at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.
