Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".
The final night of the regular season for the Brokerlink Insurance Grey Bruce Major Curling League is tomorrow night with games at 8 pm at the Paisley Curling Club & Chesley Curling Club.
After 8 weeks of competition, 4 of the ten rinks have clinched a playoff berth, leaving the outcome of tomorrow's matches to determine which rinks claim the final 4 positions for the playoff round.
The Al Hutchinson rink out of Hanover leads the standings at 7 & 1.
Obviously league play has been beneficial for Hutchinson who will skip the Ontario entry in late March at the Canadian Masters Curling Event in Rothesay, New Brunswick.
Behind the Hanover rink sits Steve Gregg from Paisley & Mike Hamer from the Port Elgin Curling Club at 6 & 2.
Plus the Wiarton entry skipped by Scott Davidson has also clinched with a 5 & 3 mark heading to the final match tomorrow night.
There's a 4 way tie currently for 5th through 8 with Shawn Kaufman of Walkerton, Pete Newton from Kincardine, Chesley's Brett McAllister and Joey Rettinger out of Tara all at 3 & 5.
Those four rinks will make the playoffs.... but only if both the two other Tara rinks skipped by Don Bartley & Adam Alpaugh lose their games tomorrow night.
Don Bartley meets Pete Newton in Paisley while Adam Alpaugh goes against Shawn Kaufman in Chesley.
However, wins by Bartley & Alpaugh tomorrow night means we'll have to get out the abacus to figure out who's in and who's out.
I'm Fred Wallace
