Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".
The Owen Sound Girls Field Lacrosse program once again is conducting a Toronto Rock ticket campaign.
Last year, the ambitious campaign generated 600 ticket sales and somewhere near $ 6,000 for the Girls Field Lacrosse program in Owen Sound through the sale of those tickets to an NLL game at Toronto.
A year later, nicely in conjunction with PA Day set for April 12th, the local Girls organization is currently selling tickets to the Toronto Rock NLL home game on April 12th against the New England Black Wolves as part of a fundraising initiative.
This year there are 500 tickets available.
The money that generated last year, and again this year, was utilized in a variety of manners by the local program.
They were able to buy additional equipment, upgrade the number of nets and supplies, plus provide vital support to both those who played in Owen Sound and those who were good enough to play beyond Owen Sound at the provincial level.
In a nutshell, this seed money was integral to the ongoing growth of the Girls Field Lacrosse program that has evolved very quickly and very nicely and might, just might, have 2 rep teams competing in each age bracket in 2019.
To purchase tickets or for more information go to the Owen Sound Minor Lacrosse & Girls Field Lacrosse Facebook Page.
Last year's inaugural event was a great success on every level......except The Rock played poorly on game night.
Hopefully, the Owen Sound Girls Field Lacrosse program will have another sellout, and The Rock will score a key win over New England.
