NFL Playoff Matchups

Fred

By Fred Wallace

 Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire. "

Today is day 1 of the 53rd annual Grey-Bruce Farmers Week at the Elmwood Community Centre

Dairy Day opens the show which runs every day until Wednesday and features Sheep Day & Horse Day this weekend.

Also this weekend, the NFL Playoffs commence.

The 4 bye teams are the Kansas City Chiefs ( 12 & 4 ) & New England Patriots ( 11 & 5 ) in the AFC while the NFC bye teams will be the New Orleans Saints ( 13 & 3 ) & L.A. Rams ( 13 & 3 ).

Here are the opening matchups;

First on Saturday afternoon, the Indianapolis Colts ( 10 & 6 ) meet the Texans ( 11 & 5 ) in Houston- the winner advances to meet the Chiefs

Then Saturday night it's the Seattle Seahawks ( 10 & 6 ) in Dallas to face the Cowboys ( also 10 & 6 ).- the winner will face the Rams next week.

The following day the afternoon game pits The LA Chargers ( 12 & 4 ) at Baltimore to face the Ravens ( 10 & 6 )- the winner moves on to take on New England

And finally Sunday afternoon, the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles ( 9 & 7 ) are at Chicago to face the Bears ( 12 & 4 ). The winner of that game goes up against the Saints in an NFC Semifinal.

There have been terrific matchups in the NFL this year with some prominent teams missing out on the post season, namely Tennessee & Pittsburgh.

My call for Week 1 of the NFL Playoffs; Houston, Seattle, Chargers & the Bears.

Long term, I'll call the Kansas City Chiefs to be the 2019 Super Bowl Champions.

We'll see you at Farmer's Week in Elmwood this week and we'll see how accurate my NFL predictions are as the month unfolds.

I'm Fred Wallace
