Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".
The National Hockey League season opens tonight with 4 games and some great rivalries;
& Stanley Cup Champion Washington in against Boston.
I'm going to the Attack game tonight to watch the return of Sean Durzi as Owen Sound meets the 3 & 0 Sarnia Sting in a Western Conference matchup.
Like many in the region, I was selfishly excited when I heard the news the Toronto Maple Leafs had assigned Sean Durzi back to the Attack.
His progression through the years here has been a testament to the program in Owen Sound and an even greater testament to Sean himself, who was selected 228th in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection and risen rapidly to become an important player.
However, as a note of caution, similar to Nick Suzuki's return, Sean Durzi is still one player, an excellent player for sure, but again, in a team sport like hockey, it's difficult for one player to be a difference maker every time out.
And the Owen Sound Attack right now need to make something different happen.
They've been pounded twice on the road and gagged on a 1 goal lead late on Saturday night at home.
The 1 & 3 record is utterly accurate of their performance.
And their performance, even with the returns of Nick Suzuki & Sean Durzi, has to be a lot better in a lot of places if the Attack are to be successful going forward.
