Saugeen Golf Club Member Aims For Another Win
Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire "
One of the more remarkable runs this summer has been turned in by golfer Sean Tippin of the Saugeen Golf Club.
Competing on the Grey-Bruce Junior Tour, Tippin won 5 of the 6 tour events this year heading to today's event at Ainsdale near Kincardine.
On the opening day, Tippin won the Qualifier at Whispering Hills at Hanover.
At the first official tour stop at Scenic City Golf Course outside Owen Sound, Tippin scored with a 79.
The lone blemish on his Summer season to this point came at Cobble Beach Golf Links in Georgian Bluffs, and even at that, it was a narrow miss, as he was defeated in a playoff by Landon Young of Pike Lake Golf Centre.
Undaunted, Tippin followed with 3 straight tour victories to run his win total to 5 on the Summer
He won with 77 at Pike Lake.
He won with a 76 playing on his home course at Saugeen Golf Club
And then on the Civic Holiday Monday, he posted another 76 to win at Meaford Golf Course.
The beauty of the Grey Bruce Junior Tour is that it gives the players, no matter what their skill level, the opportunity to play and experience all kinds of golf conditions.
The range and characteristics of the 6 Grey-Bruce golf courses to this point on the year are vastly different and Ainsdale will offer yet another challenge today before the 2018 Tour concludes August 21st at Legacy Ridge, which again is a different venue than the previous group.
But no matter where the Grey Bruce Junior Golf Tour has been staged this summer, no matter what the course or the conditions, Sean Tippin of Saugeen Golf Club has been able to master it.
