Big Weekend for Broomball

Fred

By

Fred Wallace talks about the 2018 Broomball provincials in Barrie, where four teams from Grey Bruce are taking part.

Length:

It's a big weekend in broomball circles with the Provincials being staged at the Innisfil Recreation Complex near Barrie starting today and running through the weekend.

From our region, there are 4 entries competing, spread out among 4 different divisions; Midget Girls, Midget Boys, Juvenile Girls & Juvenile Boys.

In the Midget Girls Division, the Kilsyth Young Guns in their first year of operation will compete.

Meanwhile, the Kilsyth Flyers who were formed last season will compete in the Midget Boys Division which is for players under the age of 18.

Of note, a large amount of the local focus will be on the Juvenile Division with the Kilsyth entries, also named Young Guns & Flyers, competing.

The Juvenile Division is for players under the age of 20 and the top teams from the Innisfil event this weekend will advance to the Canadian Championship Tournament which will be conducted in Owen Sound in April.

From April 4th to the 7th, the Kilsyth Young Guns and the Kilsyth Flyers will be hosting the Canadian Juvenile Broomball Championships at both the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre & the Julie McArthur Regional Rec Centre.

Have a great weekend,

I'm Fred Wallace
