All American + Great Lakes Concrete Series In 2018

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire. "

This certainly didn't happen overnight, most big things take time, and in the case of Sauble Speedway securing a weekly NASCAR All-American series, it was a lengthy process.

The NASCAR designation has been in the works for almost a year, virtually since the track changed ownership in 2017, but now to the utter joy of the operators at Sauble, they are NASCAR certified.

Now, after submissions, negotiations, inspections and assorted other details have been firmed up, when the track opens for 2018 on June 8th, they'll have an appealing attraction.

Owner-Promoter Mark Dilley maintains the All-American designation is a win-win-win scenario.

For the drivers at Sauble Speedway who will compete for points through the late Spring and Summer, there will be additional cash plus enhanced insurance coverage.

For the region, the classification opens the door for a sequence of head to head challenges between Sauble drivers and those under the All-American banner at Sunset.

And for the business at Sauble Speedway, one that faces weather challenges and a relatively short calendar season, it's a significant boost, a major attraction that will unfold week by week throughout their race season.

The green flag won't be dropped for almost 6 months, but early in 2018, it appears an early winner is Sauble Speedway with the confirmation of the NASCAR All-American series.

I'm Fred Wallace
