Attack-Rangers Go To Game 3
Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire " brought to you by the Owen Sound Springfest 55+ Games presented by Liuna 1059.
Sign up today for all of the great activities at Temporary City Hall, located at 945 3rd Avenue East.
I'm having wicked flashbacks these days.
Tell me the ending of Game 2 of the Attack-Kitchener series on Saturday night in Owen Sound didn't remind you of the movie " Mystery, Alaska ".
Down by a goal with only seconds to play, Owen Sound executed perfectly, won the offensive zone draw, passed quickly to the open triggerman and then watched in agony as Petrus Palmu, just like Connor Banks in the movies, drilled one off the crossbar as time expired.
Ironically, the Rangers ( New York ) won in Mystery, Alaska and the Rangers ( Kitchener ) tied their playoff series with the Attack.
And does this series not remind you of last year's 3-6 matchup between London and the Attack ?
In both cases, the home team won the opener, only to see the visitors come back to take Game 2 backed by solid goaltending.
I might be stretching, but you've got to admit there are similarities.
But Games 1 & 2 of the OHL Western Conference quarterfinal, like Sheriff John Biebe, are now old news as we head to game 3 in the series tonight at Kitchener.
