Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".
I think it would be fair to say that transition season is underway.
Transition season in our region is the gentle shift from one seasonal set of sporting activities to the next.
The most common tipoff is Registration Nights which concluded in Owen Sound last night but also has dates for other sports and communities, like Arran Tara Minor Baseball on Monday.
Over the course of the week, I received a number of notes from transitional sports;
Registration for the 8th annual Bayshore Race is underway.
Bluewater Rugby is in need of game officials.
And coaching applications are being accepted by Owen Sound Minor Hockey.
That's not to say the seasonal switch is complete.
This weekend for example, there are all kinds of games from the Attack through Minor Hockey plus a variety of neat activities.
The Bowl for Kids sake is tomorrow at the Bowling Alley.
The NHL Alumni are at the Bayshore Sunday afternoon.
And at the Owen Sound Legion tomorrow, 16 teams, including two from Owen Sound, will compete in the Ontario Snooker Championships.
Owen Sound won the right to host the event when a local team with Lauchlin McArthur, Lou Skiba, Steve West and Barry 8-Ball Brick won the 2016 provincial title.
Play starts tomorrow morning at 9 am at the Legion and admission is free.
