No More " Wait Til Next Year "
Hi this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire " brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
There are no Major League Baseball games this weekend.
The Chicago Cubs after 108 years have the World Series Trophy once again to the utter joy of the city, the state and long suffering Cubs fans around the globe.
The Cubs story is truly storybook like.
Non-winners since 1908.
Either inept, or cursed, or both, from 1945 to 1984, the Cubs put all that behind them with the 2016 Series victory.
Oh sure, they didn't do it the easy way; falling behind 3 games to 1 to the Cleveland Indians, then posting stay-alive victories in Game 5 at Wrigley Field and Game 6 at Progressive Field to force Game 7.
Even in Game 7, the Cubs didn't do it the easy way, caving on a comfortable 3 run lead in the late going and needing extra inning dramatics to finally nail down the victory, take the title and vanquish the ghosts of fumbles past.
The 2017 Major League Baseball season is just under 5 months away.
But in Chicago, the Cubs and their loyal fan base likely don't care if next year ever arrives.
