Attack-Colts Among 3 OHL Games
Hi this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire " brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
It's a Midwest Division night in the Ontario Hockey League with the Guelph Storm at Erie to face the Otters; the Kitchener Rangers at Sarnia, and the Owen Sound Attack hosting Barrie.
All three games carry significance.
The Storm who are 9th in the Western Conference will be challenged at Erie as the Otters are tied in points with Sault Ste Marie and Kitchener atop the Conference.
Erie is also concluding a 5 game homestand and are on an impressive run of picking up at least a point in 10 straight games.
As mentioned, the Rangers are locked in with Erie and the Soo with 21 points and are on a 4 game win streak.
Sarnia who have lost 2 in a row are 6th in the Conference, but only two points back of the leaders.
And the Attack ?
Well, a somewhat perplexing season continues tonight when they host Barrie.
When you look at the top of the Conference Standings, West and East, all you see are teams that Owen Sound has beaten.
Erie. Sault Ste Marie. Kitchener. The top 3 in the West have all lost to the Attack.
In the East, similar story. While Owen Sound won't meet first place Oshawa until Friday, they do have wins over Hamilton and North Bay who are just 2 points back of the Generals.
Yet, the Attack come into the game tonight with an 8 & 7 record, just 5 points off the Conference lead but only 1 slot up on Guelph for the final playoff position at the quarter pole.
I'm Fred Wallace.
