Who knew that Elora would be the central location for sports this weekend ?
It is, certainly from a lacrosse standpoint.
Tomorrow, both the Owen Sound van Dolder Home Team Woodsmen & the Owen Sound Bluewater ProTeam NorthStars will have O.L.A. games in Elora.
The first game of the day is at 3 pm, when the two time defending Canadian Senior Lacrosse Champion Woodsmen go against the Wellington Dufferins
For the President Cup Champion Woodies, this is their first game since taking the 2009 National Championship last year at Six Nations.
Owen Sound does face some challenges.
As always, there are changes, but the changes this year represent transitions both on the floor and at the coaching & managerial level.
The other challenge is an historical one, as Owen Sound attempts to become the first 3 time winner of the Canadian Championship since the Fergus Thistles did it from 1986 through 1988.
Meanwhile at 7 pm tomorrow night, the Junior B NorthStars meet the Elora Mohawks in a divisional battle.
The toughest division in Junior B lacrosse is the MidWest and there's no reason to think 2010 will be a great deal different.
A great day of lacrosse tomorrow...... in Elora. Who knew ?
