The First Round of the Ontario Hockey League Playoffs wrapped up last night at Kingston as the Frontenacs were eliminated in Game 7 by the Brampton Battalion 5-2.
That sets up the second round of the OHL Playoffs with the Conference Semifinals.
In the West, the defending Memorial Cup Champion Spitfires meet the Plymouth Whalers while the London Knights will take on the Kitchener Rangers.
Meanwhile in the East, the St Mike's Majors are in against Ottawa, while the Battalion, with their game 7 victory last night, will face the Barrie Colts.
All 4 series commence tomorrow night.
In the West, I'm taking Windsor to beat Plymouth, in fact, based on the way the Whalers lumbered down the stretch, I am somewhat surprised they eliminated the Sault Greyhounds in relatively quick fashion.
Nevertheless, Windsor is far more battle ready than the Greyhounds.
In the other West Semifinal, I'll pick London, simply because in the games I saw these teams play this year, the Knights were better or dominant against Kitchener.
In the East, any momentum generated from the Game 7 win by Brampton will be quickly defused by the cast of characters at Barrie, who will advance quickly to the East Final.
The Colts opponent in the East Final will be St Mike's, IF the series with Ottawa is a grinding series, otherwise, if it's purely a skill series, the 67's might be the better choice.
So I'll call Windsor, London, Barrie and........St Mike's to be in the OHL Final 4.
