Two hockey notes today in our broadcast region, neither one of which will impact the standings in any league, but nevertheless, these are significant events.
First, on the Bruce Peninsula, the Hometown Hockey Game, a Law Enforcement Torch Run event for Special Olympics is set for this afternoon @ 1:30 pm in the Lion's Head Arena
The Peninsula Police officers will face the Staff & Students of Bruce Peninsula District School.
Admission for today's game is $2 at the door and ALL proceeds will stay in the community, supporting Special Olympics Athletes on the Peninsula.
Meanwhile, here in Owen Sound, the 8th annual Crone Cup, the 8TH (!), is set for this afternoon at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Center in Owen Sound.
The OSCVI Lady Falcons face their city rivals, the West Hill Lady Raiders at 1 pm at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Center.
Proceeds from the annual Crone Cup game will go to Spinal Cord Injury Research & to the " Shoot for a Cure " program.
There may be more important hockey games being played today, then again, maybe not, based on the charities and causes that are being supported at Lion's Head and here in Owen Sound.
