NHL Playoffs

By Fred Wallace

I know the NHL Playoffs started last night, but tonight is the annual SMHLPA Hockey Pool at Hisco's, so really, as far as we're concerned, the NHL Playoffs start this evening.

The matchups in the East have Boston against the Canadiens, Washington against the Rangers, New Jersey meeting Carolina & Pittsburgh against Philadelphia in the all Pennsylvania matchup

In the West, San Jose takes on Anaheim, Detroit faces Columbus, Vancouver meets St Louis & Chicago opposes Calgary.

Here's the calls from this segment;

In the East, Boston will manhandle Montreal who haven't won the Stanley Cup in 16 years.

Washington over the Rangers in a lengthy & rugged series

Carolina to upset New Jersey.

And in the pick'em series, I'll call for Pittsburgh

Now in the West;

Anaheim to upset the Sharks in a lengthy affair.

Detroit wins over first time participants Columbus.

Vancouver beat St Louis, only because the Blues were too hot down the stretch

And finally, Chicago over Calgary.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs started last night. With these predictions and the Hockey Pool tonight, the post season is now officially underway.

I'm Fred Wallace
