OHF Peewee Championship in Owen Sound

By Fred Wallace

After almost a two decade absence, and after months of diligent planning, the Ontario Hockey Federation Peewee " A " Championship Tournament begins tonight in Owen Sound.

The first and only function on Day 1 is the " Welcome Banquet " this evening where former NHL'er & Owen Sound Attack coach Mike Stothers will be the guest speaker.

Then tomorrow, the action picks up in a big way.

There are 5 teams competing in the weekend championship at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore including the host club, the Harold Sutherland Construction Junior Attack.

Also in the field are the Toronto Eagles, the Temiskaming Shores Puckhounds, Orillia Terriers and Kitchener Junior Rangers.

The format for the first two days is terrific. Every team meets every other team once in a true round robin which will eliminate 1 of the 5 teams after Saturday's play.

Then Sunday, the two semifinal games will be staged in the morning leading to the OHF Peewee " A " Championship game on Sunday afternoon at 3 pm.

The full schedule for the championship event is posted at
