Goderich Flyers To Face Kincardine In 1st Round PJHL Playoffs

Goderich | by Peter Jackson

Flyers to take on Highway 21 rivals, beginning Friday at the Davidson Centre.

Teams in the Provincial Junior Hockey League's Pollock Division are gearing up for the post-season, which starts on three fronts Friday.

The Goderich Flyers take on the Kincardine Bulldogs in their opening round best-of-seven, starting at the Davidson Centre Friday at 8:25pm with game two at the Maitland Rec Centre Saturday at 7:30pm

The third-place Bulldogs are favoured to take the series, but likely will have their hands full with a young Flyers club that stayed with Kincardine in most of their games and earned a 6-2 win at MRC early in the regular season.

Wingham faces Mitchell in what may be the best of the opening round match-ups -- the Hawks and Ironmen finished with 48 points each, but Mitchell takes fourth place with one more regular season win than Wingham.

Second-place Walkerton plays seventh-place Hanover in the other series.

Mount Forest finished first in the PJHL Pollock Division, and elected to take the bye into the second round.
