Underage netminder Attack Player of the Week

Rookie Goalie Shines

The Owen Sound Attack has named rookie goaltender Mack Guzda the Huron Tractor Supply Player of the Week after an outstanding three game stretch in the net.

The 17 year old Tennessee native started in all three of Owen Sound's games, allowing a total of three goals in the Attack's three game winning streak that saw the Bayshore Boys post victories against Hamilton, and the Erie Otters.

On Wednesday, Jan. 17, Guzda started the week by making 22 saves in the Attack's 2-1 win over the CHL's number five ranked Bulldogs.

Then, he turned aside 14 of 15 Otter's shot attempts in Owen Sound's 8-1 throttling of Erie on Saturday night before making another 23 stops on 24 shots on Sunday in the season finale against the Otters.

Guzda finished the week with a 1.00 goals against average and a .951 save percentage in the three wins, improving his season stats to a record of 10-6-2-2 with a 3.24 GAA and .878 save percentage.

The Attack are next in action on Friday, Jan. 26 when they head to
London to take on the Knights in a 7:30pm start at Budweiser Gardens.
