The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks went down to defeat at the Plex Friday night but it took a shootout to determine a winner.
The visiting Petrolia Squires ultimately won 3-2 to hand the Hawks their second consecutive loss in WOAA Senior AA hockey.
60-minutes ended in a 2-all draw and a 5 minute overtime period decided nothing.
In the shootout, Petrolia added four markers while the Winterhawks only came up with two.
Nevertheless, Hawks coach Jim Grieve was happy with the game and the way his squad played.
He says the "Guys were competing and were getting shots on net."
Both teams managed 34-shots apiece in the game plus OT.
Grieve says there are areas where they need improvement such as the power play and future practices will focus on those areas.
The Winterhawks don't play again until November 17th when the take on the Rocks in Elora.
The next home game is Friday, November 24th with Shallow Lake Crushers in town.
Gametime then will be 8:30pm.
