Goderich is no longer in talks about the future of the Maitland Golf and Country Club.
CAO Larry McCabe told town council Monday night, officials with the Country Club notified him over the weekend the town was no longer needed.
Officials with the Country Club came to town council in November, asking for help before they fall into receivership in March of 2017.
McCabe believes other options may be more feasible for the golf club.
He says if the town was involved, there would be more demand what type of building and what upgrades would be involved.
McCabe says the town did provide a number figure on those changes.
He believes the golf course is looking at alternative options, or has received an offer.
Town staff and officials with the golf course had met twice.
