Bears Battle the Dogs
The Owen Sound Attack are set to head to St. Catherines for a cross conference clash on Thursday, Jan. 21.
The first of two match ups on the year between the Attack and the Niagara IceDogs is scheduled for a 7:00pm puck drop at the Meridian Centre, where Owen Sound will look to end Niagara's six game point streak.
Following a 3-1 loss to the Erie Otters on Sunday, Jan. 17, the Attack enter Thursday night's game with a record of 18-16-6-3, good for 45 points and 6th in the Western Conference.
Niagara's last game was a thrilling 2-1 shootout loss at the hands of the London Knights, and while the IceDogs were defeated, they managed to pick up at least a point in the 6th straight game.
Currently 3rd in the Eastern Conference, Niagara brings a 22-13-3-3 record into Thursday's tilt, with forward Josh Ho-Sang leading the way.
Ho-Sang, a New York Islanders' pick from the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, has put up 13 goals and 39 assists on the year to lead the way for the Dogs, while overage forward Jordan Maletta has 42 points in 41 games.
Owen Sound will be led into the contest by forward Josh Sterk and defender Santino Centorame.
Sterk, who has put up 32 points to lead the Attack this season, has scored seven times and added 25 assists in his overage season.
Captain Santino Centorame, recently named the Becker Shoes Player of the Week, is one point away from matching his career high of 30, a mark he set last season. Centorame has notched 10 goals and added 19 assists in 2015-16, putting him 8th in the OHL's defensive scoring race.
Fans are able to watch Thursday's game live on Rogers Local 53, or tune into to Kia of Owen Sound Terry's Trailer Service Bear Radio on 560 CFOS.
