Norwood Advances to FinalPeterboroughby Jonathon Jackson The Norwood Champs have earned a spot in the Ontario Lacrosse Association Senior B playoff final. The Champs downed the Wellington Dufferins 13-5 in Peterborough on Wednesday night to wrap up their best-of-five semifinal series in three straight games. Norwood -- which finished first during the regular season -- now awaits the winner of the other semifinal series. The Owen Sound Van Dolder's Home Team Woodsmen are taking on the Brooklin Merchants. Owen Sound has a 2-0 lead in that series and will try to close it out on Friday night at 8:30 PM in Brooklin. If a fourth game is necessary -- it's scheduled for Saturday night at 8 PM at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. The Woodies are the three-time defending Ontario champions and have also won the last two Presidents Cups as national titlists. Owen Sound |
