The Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation received two significant donations this past week.

On July 8, the Foundation accepted a $3,500 contribution from the Southampton Rotary Club and a $5,000 donation from Ontario Power Generation.

The donation from Southampton Rotary comes after the local service club held an online East Coast Kitchen Party event that featured entertainment for an evening while soliciting funds. The Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation was one of several local charities to benefit from it, with the dollars to help offset fundraising revenue lost this year due to several cancelled events including the annual Gran Fondo Lake Huron.

Meantime, the Ontario Power Generation donation to the Hospital Foundation was to support the purchase of a new ultrasound machine at the Saugeen Memorial Hospital.

"Staff are loving the new machine which is faster and more efficient and also allows for better mobility to do portable beside imaging with improved resolution," a statement from the Foundation explains.
