Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation Receives Anonymous $1 Million Donation

Executive Director Amy McKinnon says that the foundation is honoured to have been given such a donation.

An anonymous family has made a donation of $1 million towards the MRI fundraising initiative.

This donation is the largest single donation ever received by the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation from an individual or family.

Executive Director Amy McKinnon says that the foundation is honoured to have been given such a donation.

"The family have lived in the community and understand how essential great care is," McKinnon says.  "We are thrilled that the family trusts us to use their money wisely for healthcare."

McKinnon says that this donation has put them right at their $4.7 million goal for the new system but that small donations are still being accepted in case construction goes over budget.

She says renovations are currently underway for the new system to be installed.

The next two fundraising priorities will be focused on mental health and surgery improvements.
