Saugeen Shores Man Stabbed in Leg

The victim was transported to the hospital where he was treated for his wound and released.

A Saugeen Shores man suffered a stab wound to his leg after woman -- who Saugeen Shores Police say was known to him -- "became enraged for unknown reasons and stabbed him once with a four inch blade".

The incident took place on Wednesday (July 10) at 7:30 p.m. at an apartment building in Port Elgin.

Saugeen Shores Police say they arrived on scene and located the man who provided  a description of the assailant and located her a short distance away and placed her under arrest.

An investigation revealed that the woman was on a probation order that prohibited her from contacting or communicating with the victim.

The victim was transported to the hospital where he was treated for his wound and released.

A 36 year old woman, of no fixed address, has been charged with:

1. Aggravated Assault
2. Weapons Dangerous
3. Breach of Probation – contact order with victim
4. Breach of Probation – keep the peace and be of good behaviour

The accused has been held in custody at a detention facility pending a bail hearing.

Police have not named the accused.
