Mount Forest Takes Opener in PJHL North Final

Patriots score three times in second to upend Alliston

It's advantage Mount Forest Patriots in the Provincial Junior Hockey League North Conference Final.

Brody Leblanc, Thomas Haffner and Owen Rahn each scored as part of a three-goal second period for the Patriots, which held off the Alliston Hornets 4-3 in Game 1 of the best-of-seven Wednesday night at Mount Forest.

Jack Francis also scored for the Patriots. Ryan Sallows recorded a hat trick for Alliston.

Aidan Quish made 33 saves in the win, while Tyler Ryan stopped 33 taking the loss. Mount Forest outshot Alliston 37-36 while going 0 for 6 on the power play; the Hornets finished 2 for 4.

The series shifts to Alliston for Game 2 on Friday night.
