Suspect Flees Scene of Police Investigation in Arran-Elderslie, Injures Officer

South Bruce OPP look for assistance in locating suspect or suspect vehicle

South Bruce OPP are trying to locate a suspect who fled from the scene of a police investigation in Arran-Elderslie yesterday, ramming two police cruisers and injuring an officer in the process.

OPP say the injured officer discharged his firearm at the suspect with unknown results.

Police say the incident happened just before 8:30 a.m. yesterday morning, when South Bruce OPP officers were investigating a suspect vehicle with one occupant at an address on Greenock-Elderslie Townline.

The South Bruce OPP officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital by Bruce County paramedics for treatment.

Police say a search continues for both the suspect and the suspect vehicle. OPP describe the vehicle as a black Dodge 3500 Dually pickup truck, with bar lights on the top.

Members of the South Bruce OPP Crime Unit, with the assistance of OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) and Forensic Identification Services (FIS), continue to investigate.
