A 17-year-old male youth faces numerous charges in connection to a robbery in Hanover.
Hanover Police say last Thursday, Nov. 1, a victim reported a robbery that occurred on 10th Street.
Police say the victim claimed a male had approached them and demanded money for a debt.
The accused then brandished a knife, causing the victim to had over a bag as collateral.
Police say the male suspect fled the area on foot.
Officers identified the suspect as a 17-year-old from Hanover.
The male youth was located and arrested yesterday.
Police say a knife was recovered from the accused.
Hanover Police also learned the youth was in possession of a stolen rifle and ammunition, taken from a vehicle parked in town.
Police recovered the rifle and ammo. As result, they pressed additional charges against the youth.
The 17-year-old male faces charges of robbery, possession of stolen property, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon obtained by crime, theft from motor vehicle and failing to comply with an earlier court order.
Police say the youth was taken for a bail hearing in Walkerton where he was remanded into custody pending his next court date.
