UPDATE Hospital Network Back Up Again

Bracebridge | by Ken Hashizume

A severed fibre optic cable cut off phone lines and other systems but has since been repaired.

Officials with the Muskoka Algonquin healthcare say the network at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital has been fully restored and the phone systems are once again operational.

People will not be able to contact the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge.

A news release from the Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare says the hospital is experiencing a network outage that has interrupted their phones and other systems.

They believe the problem centres around a fibre optic cable connecting Bracebridge and Gravenhurst that is cut.

Officials at the hospital are working on this issue.
