There is now a complete fire ban in Dufferin County.
No outdoor fires are allowed until further notice.
Dufferin County Fire Chiefs say the ban is imposed due to extreme dryness of all vegetation in the area.
With the pending grain harvest, farmers are encouraged to exercise extreme caution with combining, field fires can quickly overtake equipment, neighbouring crops.
Officials say these fires can spread quickly to adjacent woodlands.
Dufferin County Fire Chiefs define open air fires as "any fire outside of a building and including bonfires, campfires, burn barrels and outdoor fireplaces/chiminea.
They say the ban doesn't affect the use of barbecues, fireplaces or fire pits that use natural gas, propane, charcoal or briquettes.
