Panthers Blank Baycats

Kitchener pitching held Barrie's offence to 6 hits, Niven with home run for Panthers.

The Baycats' bats were as cold as the temperatures at the ballpark.
Kitchener's pitching staff held Barrie's offence to just six hits as the Panthers blanked the Baycats 5-0 Tuesday night.
The Panthers took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Mike Gordner scored on a fielding error by Baycats catcher Parker Walker.
The Baycats had a chance to score when they loaded the bases in the bottom half of the 4th but could not get a run in.
In the top half of the 5th, the Panthers scored three times capped off with a 2-run home run by Tanner Nivens for a 4-0 lead.
Noelvis Entenza went 7 innings, giving up no runs on 4 hits, walking 3 and striking out 4 in the win.
Brian Burton went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for the Panthers (7-3).
Santos Arias gave up 4 runs (2 earned) on seven hits walking one and striking out 2 in the loss.
Kyle DeGrace and Brandon Dhue each had 2 hits for the Baycats (5-3).
The Baycats head down the 400 to Toronto tonight for a game against the Maple Leafs at Christie Pitts.
