The Ontario Hockey League Western Conference Final is heading to Game 7.
After surrendering a two-goal lead late in the third period the Kitchener Rangers were bailed out by Kole Sherwood in overtime, beating the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 4-3 in Game 6 of the OHL West Final at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Sunday night.
Givani Smith, Joseph Garreffa and Adam Mascherin also scored for the Rangers.
Taylor Raddysh scored goals just over three minutes apart, tying the game 3-3 with 1:25 remaining to force overtime.
Mac Hollowell added a goal for Sault Ste. Marie.
Mario Culina made 45 saves in the win. Matthew Villalta stopped 38 taking the loss.
The Greyhounds outshot the Rangers 48-38 while going 1 for 7 on the power play; Kitchener finished 1 for 4.
Game 7 is at 7:07 p.m. tonight in Sault Ste. Marie.
The Hamilton Bulldogs await the winner in the OHL championship.
The home team has won all six games in the Kitchener-Sault Ste. Marie series.
